PolitiTruth: Distinguishing Political Fact from Fiction
PolitiTruth is a non-profit game developed by Cinq-Mars Media for the iPhone. The game aims to improve players' ability to discern political fact from fiction. By swiping left or right, players can guess whether a news story is false or true, respectively.
In partnership with the Pulitzer Prize-winning organization PolitiFact, PolitiTruth gathers beneficial statistics on public misconceptions while encouraging players to be more discerning in their information sources. By tapping into our competitive nature, the game aims to expand political consciousness.
Anonymously saved guesses are used to compare players' political awareness and identify the stories that people most often get wrong. This data helps to make statistics on public misconceptions in politics more robust and reduce response bias.
PolitiTruth is set to premiere at E3 2017 through the IndieCade showcase. It was created by Christopher Cinq-Mars Jarvis and is part of Cinq-Mars Media, a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to education.
